Can you give us some information on the background of Danbro, such as how and why the business was formed?
Danbro was formed by Damian Broughton back in 1999, when he was made redundant and decided that there was a gap in the market to provide payroll and accounting solutions specifically aimed at the contract and temporary workforce. The mission was and has since been ‘to meet the accounting service needs of the contractor and freelancer marketplace in the most efficient and timely manner possible, building on a reputation for providing excellent customer service through committed, enthusiastic and responsive team members’. I truly believe that this mission formed back in 1999 have helped Danbro grow into one of the fastest growing private companies in the UK, as listed by the Sunday Times Fast Track 100 today.
Some umbrella providers currently offer discounted fees or even a free service, how has this affected the services that Danbro provide and more importantly how are you coping with this issue?
Based on research conducted by Professional Passport, the main three elements that a contractor will consider when choosing an umbrella are; colleague recommendation, quality of advice and service levels. Providers offering a free, or close to free service, don’t necessarily tick all of these boxes and many of these providers are trying to penetrate the market based on price alone despite there being other variables that contractors consider when choosing an Umbrella provider.
We focus on providing our clients with expert advice and excellent service levels which in turn create colleague recommendations. We already offer highly competitive fees at just £22.00 per week, for which all Danbro clients are given reassurance that they will receive a tax efficient, compliant and stress free way of being paid for the work that they do.
Many umbrelladetective.com users are in search of an umbrella company to work with, please give us the key reasons why they should choose Danbro?
If I was to give three reasons, they would be;
Get the best advice - Although we provide a PAYE Umbrella solution for contractors, we also provide other solutions such as Limited Company formation and accounting services for those contractors that could benefit from operating through their own Ltd Company. In addition to that we also have what we call a Danbro Personal Umbrella solution which is ideal for contractors that incur little or no expenses – The reason why this is such a benefit to contractors is the fact that we can provide a solution which will best suit their individual needs based on the length of their contract, basis of pay, working practice and the infamous IR35.
Stress-free way to be paid - Under the umbrella solution, all you have to do is submit your timesheet and expenses to us through our online portal, allowing us to invoice your agency/client. As soon as we receive your money, we process your payment on the same day, ensuring you receive your earnings in the quickest and most tax efficient manner.
9 out of 10 contractors that use our Umbrella solution would recommend Danbro to a colleague – Our commitment to providing our clients with excellent service levels is unrivalled, which is why they continue to recommend Danbro to their colleagues.
On top of these three reasons, there are a number of other benefits when joining Danbro, which can be viewed through our website at www.danbro.co.uk
What are your plans for the rest of 2010?
Already 2010 is proving to be a great year for Danbro with a record month of registrations across all solutions. This year we have and will continue to focus on developing long lasting relationships with our clients through continually improving the services we provide. Furthermore, 2010 is a huge milestone in Danbro’s history as we are celebrating 10 years of providing payroll and accounting solutions to thousands of contract and temporary workers. As part of the celebration we intend to launch a competition where 10 lucky contractors can win an Audi A1 for a full year, but you’re the first to hear about this before we launch the promotion, however there will be more details to follow on that one.
