Self-employed people could increasingly use smartphones in a bid to generate exposure for their services on the web.
According to Natasha Stokes, editor of Mobile Choice, there is a clear trend with regards to consumers accessing digital content on the go.
She said \"it makes perfect sense to look to smartphones as the next big advertising platform\".
Ms Stokes added that opportunities are set to increase \"as mobile internet becomes even more widespread\".
The remarks may have been noted by entrepreneurs who are keen to engage with a young, tech-savvy audience for their future products and services.
Currently, the emerging pattern of consumers\' preference for smartphone systems is perhaps exemplified by recent news regarding Google\'s Android.
